Boeta ( JC8101) bred by the Jancor stud has been used extensively in the Walcon stud. He comes out of a superior breeding line of top sires and achievers at the National championship. His grandfather on the fathers side is well known stud sire JC5060 . JC5060 achieved a second place at the 2016 National Championship in Pietermaritzburg in the 24-36 month class and was a close runner-up to eventual SA Grand Champion JC4046. JC5060 was used extensively by Jancor stud (JC) as well as Denvor stud (DTC) who did exceptionally well with his offspring at the 2018 National Champioship in Bloemfontein. His father is JC6166 that won the 6-9 months class at the 2016 National Championship. This ram unfortunately died at a young age but his first crop of lambs produced excellent offspring like Boeta. Boeta (JC8101) has continued the legacy by producing outstanding offspring at Walcon. Many of his young ewe lambs have been kept back at Walcon for breeding purposes and his young ram lambs are showing lots of promise and will surely follow in their fathers footsteps.

Boeta is a muscular ram with exceptionally strong legs that carries his weight (170kg) with ease. He is a long, deep ram with deep hind qaurters and a strong head. What impresses most about him is how muscular he is across his shoulders for a ram with a lot of lenght. He moves with ease and given good health he should be delivering a lot of offspring in the years to come. Boeta turned 3 years on the 13th of April 2021 so still has a long breeding future ahead of him.

In total Boeta will produce approximately 200 lambs at Walcon stud with his re-production indexes correlating with his own breeding values with LMI (107), RI (103) and VGI (106) all being above a 100. Importantly his total weight of lambs weaned is showing a 106 index. His female offspring are top notch with the young ewes showing good fertility and conformation qualities.

The progeny of Boeta are showing good size, strong legs with excellent pigmentation. His female progeny are now lambing for the first time and are showing very good fertility. His male progeny are muscular with strong heads, long and carries a lot af meat. Definitely a ram that can form the backbone of any stud’s breeding program.

Boeta (JC8101) will be going on sale at the Overvaal Ile de France auction at Ottosdal showgrounds on the 7th of August.
